Wow, despite that ridiculous title you kept reading? That means you are either a very desperate, mean, head lice fighting mom looking for the last resort head lice treatment. Now that we are alone, you know I’m not really serious about that putty knife stuff, right? But I am serious when I say I have a powerful head lice treatment that can get rid of these creepy, crawly critters. Well actually I have a few but for now I will share the one I consider the most effective, because it has proven itself to me time and time again.

And NO it is not violent, harsh, chemical, drastic or dramatic; it is simply the right natural ingredient for the right occasion. And that ingredient is… drum roll please… Coconut Oil!

"Why does it work?"

Coconut oil suffocates the lice and kills their eggs. So there is no chance that the lice can become immune to it as is the case with some chemical, insecticide filled commercial products. And that is immediately another reason why I don’t like most commercial concoctions; do you want to spray potentially harmful pesticides on you or your kids? I pass for now, they are too precious, maybe later when puberty hits them and they start to drive me up the wall…

All you need for this natural head lice treatment is one jar of virgin coconut oil, this should do the trick. It will be enough to kill all the lice and nits in your family, and you have enough left for a salad dressing. See it is not only a safe, guaranteed and low cost head lice killer; it is also a very healthy addition to your meals.

Now here is the 6 step plan to make sure they pack up and leave for lice heaven (or hell if it was up to you)

1. Take 2 tablespoons of the solidified oil and melt it in a pan. Now let it cool down because you don’t want to add "fried scalp" to your problems; good I didn’t think so. (If you are unable to find coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil might have about the same lice exterminating properties, but it doesn’t do so much for your hair)
2. Apply the oil liberally to your scalp, really massage it into it, and work it through the whole length of the hair
3. You can wrap a towel around your head, but best would be to wrap your head, no not the face you silly… OK rephrase, to wrap the hair in plastic wrap
4. Do this in the evening so you can leave it in for the night. Also put a towel under your head on the pillow, this to make sure you don’t need a dry-cleaning job for your pillow cases the next day
5. The next morning shampoo it out, preferably with coconut oil shampoo of course
6. When you are done you need to do some effective screening and combing with a metal lice comb to get all the lice and nits out of there. After each time you use it, clean the metal lice comb with alcohol

Repeat this procedure 3 days in a row to make absolutely sure they are gone, and keep checking for nits for at least 2 weeks.

"How long did you say?"

"Hey that would make it an 18 step plan!" Yep, I stretched the truth a bit (or shrunk it in this case…) But an 18 step plan sounds more like you are rebuilding a country’s economy instead of a head lice treatment.
